Veterans Transportation Assistance
Effective September 15, 2026
The IFA is pleased to participate in the Highly Rural Transportation Grant for the 12th year, providing eligible veterans with passenger transportation assistance for the 2026–2027 grant cycle.
As in 2025–2026, veterans using the program will be required to submit a completed VA Appointment Card at the port of return. If the card is not returned following the appointment, the traveler will be responsible for the cost of the round-trip fare.

Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Reservations may be made online or by calling the IFA. Passengers paying with cash may reserve by phone in advance and pay at the time of sailing.
